Firstly and primarily – we are looking for you!
We are always looking for missing links and additional information, no matter how small. That is why we are also interested in your details. When we have your details, it may be possible to create a link to ancestors whose details are already in our database.
Pictures, photos and other secondary information, such as a person’s trade, addresses and anecdotes, are really welcomed. You can tell us which parts can, and which details cannot be divulged to visitors to the website.
Sometimes our investigations run into a brick wall because details required to proceed further, are missing. If you have any information relating to the people mentioned below, we welcome you contacting us: please click here.

People
George Jo(h)annes Boot, born 01-04-1892 in Den Haag
Son of Josephus Jacobus Boot, tradesman/sculptor and Philomena Josephina Bernarda Thiery. Philomena was born in Gent (Belgium) in 1853. Any information about Josephus Boot is welcome, particularly where he may have lived previously.
Karel Antonie Boot, born around 1905 in Leiden
Son of Gijsbert Karel Boot and Wilhelmina Martijn. Karel married Jozine Huijsman (place unknown). He died 25th Februray 1934 in Vlissingen. At that time he was sergeant-writer with the Royal Dutch Navy. Not only are we looking for more details for our database, but Karel Antonie Boot’s grand-daughter is looking for more information about her grand-father.
Jacob Boot, glassblower, born 11-10-1912 in The Hague, lived at Leerdam
Son of Teunis Boot and Engeltje Elisabeth van Lit. Jacob Boot was a glassblower at Leerdam. He had part in the film 'Glas' ('Glass'), the Oscar-winning documentary made by Bert Haanstra. Any and all information concerning Jacob Boot is welcome; what we have is available for viewing here.
Willem Claez Boot, pipe maker, born around 1636, lived in Gouda
Together with the American archaeologist, Paul R. Huey, we are looking for more information about the above person. The pipes which Willem made, have been found in various places around the world, even in Fort Orange, a former Dutch fort in the then state of New York. In the 'library' in the chapter 'anything', there are more details.
Willem (above) was not the only Boot in Gouda who traded as a pipe-maker. From what we know now, there were other pipe-makers named Boot up to the end of the 19th century. We are always looking for more information about pipe-makers with the surname Boot.
Huibert Boot, born around 1770, possibly lived in Wageningen
We don’t know much about Huibert Boot. We know that he had a relationship with Maria Suurmond (Suermond) who was born in Wageningen. Daughter Elisabeth was born from this union. She was baptized into the Reformed (???) church in Wageningen in 1797.
Maria Suurmond married Wouter Beekman in Wageningen in 1803. In the marriage registration, it is not noted that she was a widow at that time. However, it is also not noted that she was a single/unmarried woman. That could possibly point to the fact that she had been married to Huibert Boot.
Her daughter Elisabeth married twice in The Hague (in 1823 and in 1836). On both occasions she declared that she did not know who her father was.
Who has any information which can put us on the track of Huibert Boot? The details of the family, you will here.
